Tours
The mission of the Museum of the Mountain West (MMW) is to educate children and adults in the history and culture of the American West through the collecting, historic preservation, stewardship, restoration, and display of historical buildings and artifacts. Museum tours help us meet our mission.
Guided and self-guided.
Guided tours are guided by trained docents so that your experience is enjoyable and educational. Allow 2 hours for a complete tour. You will experience what it was like to live in western Colorado in the 1840s through the 1940s.
Group over 8 people, please call ahead and make a reservation if you want a guided tour. Can’t always guarantee we will have a tour guide available unless it’s pre-paid reservation for 8 or more people and we take your credit card over the phone. Otherwise, all docent-guided tours are first come first served.
Tour fees are a tax-free, non-refundable donation to our 501C3 organization..

“I would pick pieces and parts that I enjoyed at your museum,
but there aren’t any, because I loved it all. When we … saw
everything it left me speechless! I’ve gone to “King Tut’s Moving
Exhibit” in Denver and, honestly, I think your museum beats them
by a mile!”
