06-07-08 2022 Spanish Trail Plein Air

Date: June, July, August 2022

Days: Monday through Thursday, except for holidays.

Time: 9 am – 1 pm at each location. (Scroll down to view dates, times, locations)

4 Locations: Museum of the Mountain West, Ute Museum, Fort Uncompahgre, private home on the river in Delta.

Description: Follow the Old Spanish Trail Plein Air with Art and Photography. All locations are on the Old Spanish Trail Each location has water for painting, restroom, shady area for lunch or art-making in inclement weather. The three museums have a wide variety of living history exhibits and colorful, fascinating displays. You will find plenty of subject material! The private home offers magnificent riverfront scenery with wildflowers, waterfowl, and wildlife. Instructors will provide private help and critiquing and help select the perfect location for each group, which is limited to no more than 10 persons. Mutiple sessions may be taking place simultaneously at any location on any date.

Instructions: You provide your on art materials.Select dates. Instructor will contact you with instructions for meet up and other information. Suggest you bring head covering, sun screen, extra water for drinking, sack lunch, but spray.

This event is a FUNDRAISER for all three museums, which split the class donations equally.
All reservations are online only and are being managed by Museum of the Mountain West. Your reservation serves as a non-refundable, tax-deductable receipt for  your 501C3 donation.

How to register online.
1. Choose an option: Single Session ($35) or Pkg of 4 sessions (($120). 2. Choose number of reservations for that option.
After we receive your registration, you will be called to discuss which locations, dates, and instructors you prefer.
3. Click Add to Cart.
4. Next screen if looks ok, proceed to checkout and enter your contact info. Then continue to enter your credit card information.
No, you do not have to have PayPal. To pay with your credit card when you get to CheckOut, “Pay With Your Credit Card” which is the last checkout option.

Plein Air on the Old Spanish Trail. Capture living history in a photograph or painting.
Choose instructors, dates, and locations: Ute Museum, Montrose, Fort Uncompahgre Interpretive Center, Delta, Museum of the Mountain West (MMW), Montrose, and a private home on the river.
Exhibit and Sale. Show & sell your work in September at MMW or the Ute Museum, with Opening Reception Sept. 3rd at MMW. Show juried by artist, Virginia Blackstock.

Locations: MMW, Museum of the Mountain West; PH Private home; Fort, Fort Uncompahgre; Ute, Ute Museum.
