Description: The Museum of the Mountain West is partnering with Fort Uncompahgre and the Ute Museum this summer for a series of plein air painting & photography sessions along the Old Spanish Trail. Instructors will work with small groups offering personal attention and critiquing.
An exhibit, shared at both MMW and the Ute Museum and juried by Virginia Blackstock, follows in September. Show and sale continue all month with an opening reception hosted by the Museum of the Mountain West Saturday, September 3rd, 4-7 pm.
All three museums are located on the Old Spanish Trail and have authentic outdoor exhibits. The private home offers picturesque riverfront scenery with wildlife. Guides and docents in period dress, and the private homeowner, will offer historical information about the fascinating subjects and locations for painting and photography.
